STUDENT ORGANIZATION FUNDING OPTIONS

A brief description of each funding option available to student organizations is listed below with the corresponding application.

The complete Funding Timeline for 2008-2009 will be posted in August 2008.

BEFORE COMPLETING ANY GRANT APPLICATION make sure your student organization is familiar with these GUIDELINES (click on each on to access):

2008-2009 EVENT GRANT (CLICK HERE TO ACCESS APPLICATION)
Student Organizations can apply for this grant to support the programming needs of registered groups on-campus and in the greater Charlotte metropolitan area. The maximum award is $3,000 per event and groups may receive funding for an infinite amount of events. A hearing before the Ways and Means Committee of the Student Government Association is required.

After you have completed your event grant application, please turn a hard copy in to the front desk of SGA Complex located in the Cone University Center, Room 369. (Electronic copies will not be accpeted.) Event grants cannot exceed $3,000.00. Event grant applications must be turned in by Friday by 5:00pm in order to be considered for an event grant hearing the following week.

When you turn in the application, you will have to schedule an event grant hearing. Event grant hearings are held every Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. in Cone University Center, in the OSA Conference Room (2nd floor next to the Mainstreet Market).

2008-2009 TRAVEL GRANT (CLICK HERE TO ACCESS APPLICATION)
Student Organizations can apply for this grant to travel to conferences, trainings, competitions, and other off-campus events. The maximum award is $1,000 per student organization per academic year. A hearing before the Ways and Means Committee of the Student Government Association is required.

After you have completed your travel grant application, please turn a hard copy in to the front desk of the SGA Complex located in the Cone University Center, Room 369. (Electronic copies will not be accpeted.) Travel grants cannot exceed $1,000.00. 2008-2009 OPERATIONAL OPEN FUND (CLICK HERE TO ACCESS APPLICATION)
Student Organizations can apply for money from the Operational Open Fund to finance resources necessary for the day-to-day operational needs of the group. The maximum award is $200 per student organization and there are specific monetary limits per each funding category. The Operational Open Fund is intended to be a quick and easy way for registered student organizations to acquire an operational budget. No hearing is necessary and student groups may apply for funds throughout the year.

2008-2009 OPERATIONAL GRANT (CLOSED)
Student Organizations can apply for this grant to fund resources necessary for the day-to-day operational needs of the group and its recruitment of new members. The award for this grant is between $200 - $600 per student organization and there are specific monetary limits per each funding category. A hearing before the Ways and Means Committee of the Student Government Association is required. Groups MUST file in the Spring of 2008 to have this money in their account for the 2008-2009 academic year. The last day and time to file an application for Operational Grant funding is Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Midnight.
